Crafted at our coastal Orkney distillery, the Deerness Distillery 2025 Edition Gin is a celebration of place, season, and the teamwork of our distiller Shane and head gardener Alison. Every botanical in this special release—Juniper, French Tarragon, Bay Leaf, Chamomile, Lavender, Mandarin Leaf, and Rosemary—is lovingly grown in our own botanical polytunnel, nurtured by salt-tinged sea air that lends each ingredient a naturally lifted freshness.

Tasting Notes

Nose

Bright juniper upfront, softened by delicate chamomile floral notes. Aromatic waves of rosemary and lavender rise beneath, enhanced by a subtle maritime freshness from our coastal surroundings.

Palate

Herbaceous and silky. French tarragon and bay leaf create a savoury depth, balanced by mandarin leaf bringing a clean, citrus lift. Chamomile adds a gentle sweetness, while lavender introduces a refined, perfumed layer without overpowering. The juniper backbone is crisp and pure, enriched by the natural vibrancy of home-grown botanicals.

Finish

Long, fresh, and softly coastal. Rosemary lingers with a warming herbal note, followed by a final whisper of citrus mandarin and sea air. Elegant and refreshing, leaving the palate ready for another sip.
